MANOMET PRESSURE ZONE WATER MAIN IMPROVEMENTS: MANOMET POINT ROAD

MANOMET PRESSURE ZONE WATER MAIN IMPROVEMENTS:
MANOMET POINT ROAD

The Town of Plymouth’s Department of Public Works (“DPW”) has entered into a construction contract with MDR Construction Co. Inc. to complete the Manomet Pressure Zone Water Main Improvement Project. The project involves the installation of water mains, fire hydrants, and water services on the following streets:
• White Horse Road from State Road to Robbins Hill Road
• Robbins Hill Road
• Priscilla Beach Road from Robbins Hill Road to Cochituate Road
• Rocky Hill Road from White Horse Road to Guide Board Road
• Manomet Point Road from State Road to Kevin Avenue
• Manomet Elementary School from Manomet Point Road to Asiaf Way
• Bartlett Road from Ray Road to State Road
• Brook Road

This project will increase the size of the water mains on the listed streets which will reduce system pressure surges, increase water supply, increase fire flow, and improve the overall redundancy and resiliency of the water system in the project area.

Water main construction is anticipated to begin on Manomet Point Road the week of April 8, 2024 near the intersection with Kevin Avenue. Water main construction on White Horse Road, Robbins Hill Road, Priscilla Beach Road, and Rocky Hill Road began in October 2023 and is anticipated to be completed within the next few weeks. Water main construction on the other streets within the project limits is anticipated to start in the late spring/early summer of 2024.

Normal working hours are 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday – Friday, during which time various equipment, machinery, and materials will be in the roadway. No work is anticipated to occur on weekends or holidays. It is anticipated the roads will remain open to local and emergency traffic and access to Manomet Elementary School will be maintained. There will be signage and a detailed police officer to direct traffic during construction. Please use caution when approaching and passing construction crews. Please expect delays when approaching the job site as the Contractor may be required to move their equipment to accommodate for vehicle passing. Driveway access will be maintained throughout construction.
