At approximately 1:52 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 7, the Plymouth Fire Department responded to Head of the Bay Road after a blade from a 300-foot-tall wind turbine detached and landed in a nearby cranberry bog. There were no injuries and no danger to the public. The turbine automatically shut down as designed, and the maintenance company is on site inspecting the equipment and overseeing cleanup.
The Plymouth Fire Department has notified MassDEP and Town Inspectional Services, who will continue to review the incident.
