Mission

To operate a solid waste transfer station efficiently in a cost-effective manner and a recycling facility to encourage residents to recycle thereby keeping reusable items out of our landfills.  The Town of Plymouth is a Pay As You Throw community in order to reduce the amount of trash that is disposed of in landfills and transfer stations while increasing recycling. 

Report a Concern

Manomet Transfer Station

The Manomet Transfer Station is open from 8:00 a.m. through 3:45 p.m. on Sundays, Mondays, Tuesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. Permit required for entry. Any vehicle entering the Transfer Station without a permit will be subject to a $100.00 fine.

* Please note the entry gate will begin closing at 3:45 p.m., effective July 1, 2023

Holidays

The Transfer Station is closed on New Year's Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Presidents' Day, Independence Day, Columbus/Indigenous People's Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve (close at noon), Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve (close at noon).


Difficult to Manage / Hard to Manage Waste Collection Facility

The Difficult to Manage Waste Collection Facility is operated by Republic Services and is open Saturdays, Sundays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays from 8:00 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. Participation in Town-provided Trash and Recycling Services is not required. Pay by weight for all materials. Mattresses/Boxsprings by weight plus $75 each. Entrance to Difficult to Manage Waste is first, immediately followed by Manomet Transfer Station.
