Whispering Woods Conservation Area

  1. 1 A trail vista overlooking a pasture

The Whispering Woods Conservation area is Plymouth's newest publicly accessible conservation area! A small area of open space, the establishment of a trail was created at the request of nearby residents. It is intended to provide an outdoor recreational walking trail to the Herring Ponds neighborhoods- an area of town somewhat underserved by nearby open space. While the short loop may not be a destination trail for areas outside of the Herring Ponds, we hope nearby residents will see it as an amenity for dog walking, hiking, and nature viewing.

The trail meanders through mixed forest with notable topographic changes, running along ridges and diving into various naturally occurring hollows. At the southern extent, a small vista is available overlooking a farm in Bourne.

A small parking area for two vehicles is available on the property adjacent to the Whispering Woods sign. Please note that the turn-off on the opposite side of the road is private property; we ask that you refrain from parking there.
