During the permitting process of the AD Makepeace Redbrook development, transportation improvements were identified and required. AD Makepeace and their design consultants have worked with the Town to develop the proposed intersection improvements. Improvements include signalization, dedicated turn lanes, and pedestrian crossings. Design plans and other project related documents are below.
Lawrence Lynch, AD Makepeace's contractor, anticipates beginning construction in early April. The preliminary construction schedule is as follows:
Prior to 4/18 (school vacation) - working off the road
- Install advanced warning signs
- Install tree protection fence
- Minor Shrub Clearing and Landscaping (by others)
- Continued Utility Pole Work
Week of 4/18 to 4/25 (school vacation)
- Tree clearing
- Erosion control
- Grub/excavate/fill/shape shoulders to limits of grading in preparation for utility work
Week of 4/28 to 6/18 (last day of school)
- Lawrence Lynch Pause Period, little to no work
- Continued Utility Pole Work (if not completed)
Remobilize 6/18 to end of August (school out for summer)
- Continue the balance of the schedule
- Drainage
- Underground Signal Equipment and Mast Arm Foundations
- Curbing, Sidewalk, and Guardrail
September to October
- Signal Equipment Installation
- Final Paving & Striping
- Landscaping
The majority of work in the road is scheduled for when school is not in session. Although there is work scheduled for September and October, these work efforts are short term activities that should have a lesser impact on traffic. Weather conditions and traffic signal equipment lead times are the key factors in determining overall completion.
