Marijuana Information

Overview

The Town of Plymouth has adopted zoning for all marijuana uses, including registered marijuana dispensaries and marijuana retailers.  As to retail licenses in Plymouth, the town has capped retail licenses at no more than 4.  All licensing for the sale and cultivation of Marijuana for both medical and recreational purposes is strictly conducted through the Commonwealth of Massachusetts – it is not conducted through towns or municipalities.  For more information on licensing, please contact the Cannabis Control Commission.

The Town of Plymouth will be establishing a new set of policies by the end of 2023 for its cannabis permitting program to further promote equity and encourage applicants to establish businesses in Plymouth. 

All marijuana uses require a signed Host Community Agreement and a Special Permit, in addition to a license from the state.  Please see the below links to the zoning ordinance and Host Community Agreement Process.
