Jordan Road at Route 3 Water Main Replacement

Plymouth’s Department of Public Works  seeks to notify residents and visitors that the Town will undertake a water main replacement project on Jordan Road at the bridge crossing Route 3, beginning the week of June 5, 2023. The project includes replacement of approximately 400 feet of 8-inch cast iron water main with 8-inch ductile iron water main along the bridge. The project will also require a temporary water main bypass during construction.

RFS Corp. of Brockton, Massachusetts will perform the work as the Town’s contractor.  Starting the week of June 25, night work is anticipated to occur weekdays (Sunday through Thursday), between the hours of 9:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m. Night work is anticipated to last approximately four (4) weeks. The majority of equipment will be staged within Route 3. After those four weeks, an additional week of work is anticipated to occur weekdays (Monday through Friday), between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. on Jordan Road. No work will occur on holidays.

During construction, please expect to be inconvenienced by traffic delays, uneven/settling trenches, and elevated noise levels. The Town and the Contractor will make every effort possible to minimize disturbances to residents, businesses, pedestrians, and motorists in the area throughout the duration of this project.

Please note Jordan Road will be reduced to one-lane of traffic within in the construction area and temporary traffic control signals will be in place.  Please see the traffic control plan that is anticipated to be in place beginning the week of June 5, 2023

The Town appreciates the community’s patience and support during this important water system improvement project.  Questions may be directed to the Town’s Department of Public Works Water Division at (508) 830-4162, extension 12141 during normal business hours, 7:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
